Evolutionary Pavilion

This home’s Louisiana-estate design concept reflects a created storyline and timeline consistent with its unique history and cultural influence. The architectural intent is to replicate an evolutionary process where each portion of the building’s mass describes a different period of time, each with its distinctive cultural influences. The central building (dining room, gallery, and loggia) appears to have been built first by French settlers with a French/West Indies design influence. Later, another owner or a descendant might have built the carriage house with their influence in architectural style, including a Spanish influenced balcony overlooking the courtyard. Finally, the flanking family room/kitchen and living/master bedroom later emerge with an English/French influence. Overall, the complex of buildings represents a well-blended harmony of American history and rich architectural style.
