Nestled beneath a lush canopy of live oaks, this home on West Jones Street was originally constructed circa 1849 for James Kerr in the Greek Revival vernacular style, typical of Savannah townhouses built during the mid-19th century boom. The current renovation and addition is one of unparalleled luxury—offering meticulously restored details such as high ceilings, original moldings, fireplace mantles and oversized windows.

When Homeline began the project, the existing house was 6,500 square feet. The additions to the structure resulted in a total square footage of 9,500+ square feet. The addition and overall renovation serve to better accommodate the residents’ needs while retaining the contributing structure’s historic fabric, character and integrity. The design and rear addition successfully added to the house the owner’s requirements in a way that did not compromise the historic appearance from the street.
